Wawatam Lighthouse
This 52-foot lighthouse stands proudly at the end of Huron Boardwalk, offering spectacular views of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island from its waterfront perch.
Originally relocated from Monroe in 2004, the structure honors the legacy of the SS Chief Wawatam railroad ferry and serves as both a working navigational aid and beloved photo spot.
The short boardwalk leads past interpretive signs describing local maritime history, while adjacent Chief Wawatam Park provides playground equipment and picnic areas perfect for families.
Free to visit year-round, the lighthouse's beacon continues guiding vessels—and wintertime snowmobilers—across the Straits of Mackinac.
