Straits State Park
Straits State Park offers unrivaled views of the Mackinac Bridge alongside 255 modern campsites, mini cabins, and direct Lake Huron waterfront access. The 181-acre park features the Father Marquette National Memorial with interpretive trails, multiple observation platforms, and a section of the North Country National Scenic Trail. Open seasonally from May through October, the park provides excellent birdwatching during spring and fall migrations, plus convenient access to area attractions. Modern amenities include updated electrical hookups, level camping pads, clean facilities, and ADA-accessible viewing areas perfect for photographing Michigan's most iconic landmark.
